International Conference on Asian Nonprofit Sectors (ICANS) held, and Summary Report Available Online

Panel Discussion, Plenary 1
From 21st to 22nd January, 2016 the Toyota Foundation, together with 8 Partner organizations held “International Conference on Asian Nonprofit Sectors (ICANS)” in Tokyo, Japan.
Over 120 participants, including 58 overseas participants (from 14 countries and areas) joined the conference, from organizations supporting nonprofit sectors in Northeast and Southeast Asia, including grantmakers, umbrella organizations and intermediaries, capacity building institutions, incubators, universities and knowledge centers, corporates, and regional and global networks.
Group Discussion, Plenary 4
The Conference had 4 plenaries and 2 breakout sessions (three parallel breakouts each), with total of 40 moderators and speakers, and optional half or one day field visits (23rd January, Sanya and Saitama areas) for overseas participants. A variety of knowledge and experience was shared from the overall situation of nonprofit sectors in Asia and each countries and areas, new initiatives and trends in nonprofit sectors, major social issues and the role of nonprofit sectors, and individual cases.

Field Visit, Sanya area
The conference was organized with support from 4 country partners, The Japan Foundation Asia Center (which gave grant for the Conference), Japan Association for Charitable Organizations, Japan NPO Center, and Japan Foundation Center and 4 overseas partners, The Asia Foundation, Asia Philanthropy Circle, Narada Foundation, and Rockefeller Brothers Fund.
