q I have received a grant from the Foundation in the past. Am I allowed to apply again?
a Yes. However, in the past priority has been given to new applicants. Please give due consideration to the relation between past projects and new applications.

q Do you support projects relating to Asian communities outside of Asia?
a No. The activity base is limited to Asia.

q What sort of project expenses are covered by Toyota Foundation grants?
a Grants can cover any expenses incurred in the process of network formation, such as costs for distributing information, personnel expenses (no more than 30% of the total budget request), domestic and overseas travel expenses, equipment and furniture, rental of property and effects payments, documents and materials, printing and copying, supplies, meeting expenses, etc. Grants provided under this program may not be used to cover incidental expenditures by the grant recipient’s organization or general administrative (overhead) expenses.

q Do you accept budget requests for purchasing machinery and equipment for the project?
a There is no restriction on purchasing these items if they are a necessary part of the project. However, applications for projects whose sole purpose is the purchasing of equipment will not be accepted.

q Do you support conferences, symposiums, and other events?
a In principle, grants are not provided if holding such an event is the sole purpose of the project; however, certain cases are acceptable if they are part of the project’s overall activities. Furthermore, grants are not provided for events and other functions held on a regular basis.

q Can my project receive grants from both the Toyota Foundation and other outside sources?
a Yes. However, please be sure to inform the Foundation if you are receiving grants from other outside sources when grant amounts are being determined during the application stage, as well as during the grant period.
