From the Foundation

On Tuesday, October 30, the Toyota Foundation was honored to receive a visit by Ambassador Krister Kumlin, representing the Stockholm Prize in Criminology under the Swedish Ministry of Justice. His Excellency held friendly discussions with Mr. Hiroki Kato, managing director of the Foundation, and other staff.

His Excellency lived in Japan for five years from 1997 as the Swedish ambassador to Japan. In his new office, he is working for the international promotion of criminology and is actively visiting many countries around the world to assist them in combating crime-related problems.

The discussions were held in a congenial atmosphere in which Ambassador Kumlin and the members of the Foundation exchanged views on criminology as a relatively new field of study.
