From the Foundation

On Tuesday, October 22, the Toyota Foundation was honored to receive a visit by a delegation from the Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Culture of the United Kingdom, headed by Dame Elizabeth Esteve-Coll, DBE. The delegation was warmly received by Mr. Hiroki Kato, the Foundation’s managing director, and other staff. Also among the delegation were Mr. Chris Foy, trustee of the Institute, and Dr. Simon Kaner, its assistant director-cum-archeologist.

Dame Elizabeth served as director of the Victoria and Albert Museum and was later appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of East Anglia. She was honoured with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon in 2005
