Visit by Deputy Director Martine Letts of the Lowy Institute for International Policy
update : 05/29/2008

On the morning of Thursday, May 29, Deputy Director Martine Letts of the Lowy Institute for International Policy , an independent Australian think tank, visited the Toyota Foundation and held informal talks with Secretary General Keisuke Sasaki and other Foundation representatives.
The Lowy Institute was founded by businessman Frank Lowy with the purpose of carrying out independent research in order to propose new options for Australia's foreign policy. According to Deputy Director Letts, a critical mission of the Institute is to encourage debate among Australians about the country's role in the international community.
In a relaxed and congenial atmosphere, Deputy Director Letts and the Toyota Foundation representatives exchanged opinions about their respective interest in and efforts to address issues in such fields as health care, climate change, and agriculture in the Asia Pacific Region. They also discussed the potential for international collaboration on these issues.
